    Description

    Job Title : Technical Consultant Network & Wireless

    Relevant Experience : 8 + years

    Job Grade : TS4

    Responsibilities :

    Design, plan, establish, and optimize wireless networks.

    Design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks.

    Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.

    Be the lead for any wireless related activities.

    Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch.

    Train and mentor other engineers.

    Design and validate RF link performance, quality and reliability.

    Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and adjust equipment.

    Create manuals and support documentation.

    Optimize existing network by adjusting radio network parameters, adding/deleting of neighbours and recommending possible solutions to hardware problems

    Monitor and analyse statistical and drive test data to improve system

    performance indicators.

    Responsible for capacity planning

    Proficient in at least 2 of the following technologies :

    Cisco

    Meraki

    Aruba

    Any Wireless related certifications would be a great plus.

    Cisco

    Meraki

    Aruba

    This role involves client interaction.

    The scope of products / vendors covers below too.

    Cisco (Routing & SDWAN, ACI / Catalyst & Nexus Switching /Firewalls/F5 Load Balancers)

    Secondary Skills :

    Experienced in one of the following :

    Palo Alto/FortiGate/ASA/Firepower Firewall/Cisco ACI

    Accountabilities :

    Act on Incidents reported by our network management tools.

    Act on Incidents reported by the customer (via our service desk)

    Proactively test & upgrade software on various devices

    Analyse capacity management reports & propose improvements.

    Prepare and execute Change requests.

    Remotely Configure new devices

    Interact with multiple teams (Helpdesk, Customer, Service delivery Managers)

    Make technical advisory / designs for customer network migrations.

    Make technical advisory to improve customer security environment.

    Communicate & raise incidents to 3the party (vendors / telecom providers)

    Create and update documentation sets.

    Propose improvement plans (technical & human activity)

    Proactively seek guidance from peers and seniors where required.

    Team presentations on your activities

    Propose improvements for our network management tools / Analyse reporting before used by Service Delivery Manager

    Understand vendor product / solution evolutions.

    Core Skills :

    Minimum 8 years relevant experience in Wireless (Cisco, Meraki and or Aruba) as well as any of the Firewall experience mentioned in

    Secondary Skills :

    Hands on experience to work in an ITIL structured organisation dealing with Incident / Change / Problem management.

    Expert with implementing and supporting routing protocols.

    Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analysers.

    Configuring network & security devices with end-to-end security in mind.

    Configuring end to end Quality of Service

    Troubleshoot using traffic analysers, NetFlow collector, capacity management tools

    Understand to interpret wireless (WIFI) site survey reports.

    Execute / tune wireless (WIFI) radio management.

    Incident Report Document writing.

    Documentation (MS Word) & drawing (MS Visio) updates

    Participating in Team & Customer meetings.

    Preferred Certifications below (Certifications as an added advantage)

    CCIE/CWNA/CCNP Wireless/Aruba Wireless/Meraki Wireless is preferred.

    Cisco CCNP/CCIE R&S / Security

    Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE)

    NS5/NSE6

    Meraki Certified Meraki Network Operator

    Awareness ITIL V3 framework

    English speaking & writing skills
