    Job Title: Manager Transmission Design (Powertrain Transmission / Drivetrain Mechanical.)

    Work Location: PUNE

    Qualification: B.E/ B Tech

    Experience: 8 to 12 years

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Automotive R&D professional with 8 to 12 years of industry expertise to lead Drivetrain design roles. As an Automotive R&D (Manager Transmission Design), you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, designing cutting-edge solutions, and enhancing the performance of our automotive ICE products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop new technologies.

    Roles:

    1. Highly motivated and inspiring personality who will Lead and manage the Drivetrain functions for 2 and 3Wheelers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
    2. Define and oversee the development of new automotive technologies, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry trends.
    3. Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to translate innovative ideas into feasible prototypes and products.
    4. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential improvements in vehicle performance, safety efficiency.
    5. Stay updated with emerging trends, breakthroughs, and advancements in the automotive industry, incorporating relevant findings into R&D efforts.
    6. Lead the documentation of design specifications, Design releases and testing results for internal reference and potential patent applications.

    Prerequisites:

    1. Strong knowledge of Automotive Drivetrain systems, EV Motor Mechanical components, and emerging technologies.
    2. Proficiency in using Romax software with Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience, knowledge of other simulation tools as Kisssoft, ADAMS, ANSYS.
    3. Extensive experience in designing transmission components as Gears, Shafts, Bearings, Differential sizing, Driveshafts, Axle, Clutch and shifting components and validating the same.
    4. Transmission calculation as Tractive effort diagram, Gear ratios selection for vehicle level requirements, Bearing sizing, Gears, and shaft strength calculations. Gears' macro and micro geometry analysis.
    5. Know-how of transmission components material, manufacturing process as forging and machining, hobbing, shaping, honing, grinding, spline rolling, forming and heat treatment parameters selection. Gear quality standard knowledge.
    6. EV Motor mechanical components design, Powertrain integration, Motor Shafts, bearings and sealing selection for IP67 requirements, Motor housing design, CAE/CFD and NVH results interpretation and design input. AMT gearbox experience will be an added advantage.
    7. Ability to make EV Powertrain layout, resolving integration related issue and strong understanding of DFM, DFA, DFS. Coordination with different stakeholders as Vehicle team, EEE, Component Development, Production, Service.
    8. Component wise evaluation procedures, methods, test equipment's and interpreting results of Gearbox endurance test, clutch durability, gearbox noise testing, synchro testing, differential and axles.
    9. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a multidisciplinary team.
    10. Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    11. Technical documentation writeup as DFMEA, DRBFM, Testing Standards, Validation reports. Know-how of modern product development processes as DoE, VA/VE.
    12. Proven problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset for innovative solutions.
    13. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
