    PositionTitle : Senior Medical Officer

    Immediate Supervisor : Chief MedicalOfficer

    TheSenior Medical Officer is organizationally located within thePersonal Health and Wellness Unit (PHW) and serves as team leader(TL) for Health and Safety Directorates (HSDs) Integrated Healthand Safety HUBs (currently planned for Nairobi Sofia SingaporeChennai and Dakar). As TL the incumbent leads a multidisciplinaryteam composed of field health specialist(s) occupational health andsafety specialist(s) and mental health and wellbeing counselor(s)representing the technical expertise of HSDs three functionaldomains. Working synergistically under the operational supervisionof the TL the team assists and advises the TL in identifying andmanaging health and safety risks for all staff of theorganization.

    • Works with field health specialist to help identifyqualified local health care providers and facilities throughout theregions covered by using various sources of information such asonsite visits and recommendations from authoritative resources suchas the Medical Benefits Plan TPA and its network ofproviders.
    • When neededassist staff by coordinating care for them and their dependentswith an emphasis on health maintenance examination visits acutecare and management of chronic disease.
    • Respond to country directors/managers queries onhealthrelated matters and more specifically those related tointegrated health and safety in the workplace.
    • Engages field health specialist driven global teams forsupport and assistance when needed.
    • Providesoccupational health nurse programmatic risk assessment and medicalsurveillance when appropriate to include infectious diseaseoutbreaks.

    MinimumRequirements:

    • Medicadegree from a recognized accredited institution with 8 years ofexperience or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
    • Demonstrated professionalleadership and ability to lead a team of professionals in theexecution of major projects.
    • Ability tocoach/mentor more junior staff
    • Proficiency inwritten spoken and clinical English
    • Ability tofrequently travel internationally as required

    PreferredExperience:

    • 5 or moreyears of experience working as inhouse doctor for a largeemployer
    • Demonstrated excellence in clinicaljudgement and decisionmaking
    • Experienceworking with international organizations serving multiculturalpopulations
    • Demonstrated ability to workcollaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural teamenvironment
    • Proficiency in two or morelanguages
