Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for producing high quality graphics in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining specific quality and production targets
  • Drive to ensure all NPI schedules for graphics creation are met
  • Identify "like or similar" components ensuring maximum productivity of graphics creation processes
  • Ensure maximum utilization of corporate assets (Creo Parametric, Vis Mockup, TeamCenter, etc.)
  • Ensure that the Graphics Standards are consistent throughout the entire product line
  • Communicate with Caterpillar Engineers as needed to provide feedback and acquire necessary information related to model quality or availability
  • Evaluate new graphics technologies and/or helps define requirements for the development of new tools and processes that support the creation of graphics for PID
  • Collaborate with typical internal customers including the position's work group and immediate supervisor
  • Collaborate with external contacts including various customers and business partners throughout worldwide markets
  • Follow departmental guidelines and Caterpillar graphic standards in the creation of graphics
  • Ensure all People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are met
  • Limited travel required (Less than 5% of working time)

Required Qualifications:


  • Experience in technical illustrating and/or computer graphics
  • Experience with interpreting/understanding engineering documentation
  • Proficient in various graphics software packages including Creo Parametric, Vis Mockup, Canvas
  • Fouryear degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of one year Graphic Design jobrelated experience
  • Adept at threedimensional visualization
  • Professional communication skills are required, because the position is in frequent contact with people outside the work group to give or obtain information

Desired Qualifications:


  • Broad Caterpillar product knowledge
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar functional areas, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar software including Teamcenter, HVC, ACM, SIS Web
