- Lead the design and development of power electronics systems, including power supplies, inverters, converters, and motor drives.
- Design and analyse circuits for optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Specify and select components such as transformers, inductors, capacitors, and semiconductor devices.
- Design analog circuits for signal conditioning, amplification, and feedback control.
- Conduct simulations and analysis to optimize circuit performance and meet project specifications.
- Create detailed schematics and supervise the PCB layout process.
- Collaborate with PCB designers to ensure proper layout for signal integrity and thermal management.
- Develop test plans and conduct thorough testing of power electronics systems.
- Collaborate with test engineers to ensure designs meet performance and reliability standards.
- Analyse and troubleshoot issues identified during testing.
- Work closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to address thermal and packaging considerations.
- Generate comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, schematics, BOMs, and test reports.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates
- Familiarity with digital control systems and digital signal processors (DSPs).
- Experience with power factor correction (PFC) and energy efficiency optimization.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in power electronics design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in power electronics design, including hands-on experience with power supply design, inverters, and motor drives.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, PSIM, MATLAB and SIMULINK)
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).
- Deep understanding of analog electronics, control systems, and feedback loops.
- Knowledge of semiconductor devices and their applications in power electronics.
- Experience with thermal management and reliability considerations in power electronics.
- Familiarity with digital control systems and digital signal processors (DSPs).
