    Description

    Responsibilities :

    Database Management :

    • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software and associated components.
    • Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
    • Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages.
    • Perform schema design and optimization to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

    Backup and Recovery :

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive database backup and recovery strategy.
    • Perform regular backups of the database to ensure data integrity and availability.
    • Restore databases from backups in case of failures or data loss.
    • Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.

    Performance Monitoring :

    • Monitor database performance, health, and security metrics.
    • Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks to optimize database resource utilization.
    • Implement performance tuning techniques to improve query execution speed and database responsiveness.
    • Generate reports on database performance and resource usage.

    Issue Resolution :

    • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, errors, and performance bottlenecks promptly.
    • Analyze database logs to identify potential problems and root causes.
    • Implement solutions to resolve database issues and minimize downtime.

    Security Implementation :

    • Implement and enforce database security policies, access controls, and data encryption measures.
    • Manage user accounts and permissions to ensure data security.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest database security threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Perform security audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

    Collaboration :

    • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries for optimal performance.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to developers and other stakeholders on database usage.
    • Participate in system design and development projects involving the database.

    Continuous Learning :

    • Stay updated on the latest Oracle database technologies, best practices, and patches.
    • Attend training courses, conferences, and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills.
    • Research and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve database management efficiency.

    Requirements :

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as an Oracle database administrator (minimum 3-5 years).
    • Strong understanding of database concepts, relational database theory, and normalization techniques.
    • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

    Skills :

    Essential :

    • Oracle Database Administration: Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software.
    • Database Performance Tuning: Skilled in monitoring and optimizing database performance and resource utilization.
    • Database Security: Experienced in implementing and enforcing database security controls and policies.
    • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with development and operations teams to optimize database performance.

    Preferred :

    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification in Oracle Database Administration.
    • Experience with cloud-based database deployments (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
    • Experience with database automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
    • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
