OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To facilitate safe movement of locomotives/ battery shunter.

To carry out such work on a shift basis.

To assist CFT /Operations Team as peroperations requirement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loco Operation & Battery Shunter Operation for Shunting of Rail Vehicles/Locomotives
  • Operating hand points for setting railway lines under instructions of Station Master / Depot controller for shunting and arrival and departure of trains
  • Maintenance of points.
  • Locking facingpoints in noninterlock yards or nonsignal lines for safeguard against derailment of train
- coupling or uncoupling wagons and coaches during shunting of trains

  • To remove any obstruction lying in the yard fouling any running line,
  • To participate in all lcomotive movements & shunting movements
- to carry out ohe interlocking/remote charging &discharging of ohe.
- earthing of discharged ohe lines

  • To ensure that the points over which shunting is to be done are correctly set and locked/cotter bolted where required
  • Loco Grounding & ungrounding
  • Loco wash Operation & CLIT
  • Battery Shunter Operation & CLIT activity

EDUCATION
l ITI/Diploma in Electrical/Fitter from recognized University.(Regular Course)

  • Experience of working as Loco Operator in shunting yard ( Preferably 23 years)
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
  • Proficient in signalling trains using hand flag or light to proceed in right direction
  • Language Skills: Hindi & English
  • IT Skills: Basic knowledge of computer
