    The organization

    The mission of the Data Solutions team at Chegg is to deliver a unified data and self-service analytics

    platform that is easy to use, scalable, accurate and trusted. Simply put, we improve the way Chegg's

    data is sourced, processed, and organized. By enabling easier, faster insights we facilitate deeper

    understanding of student needs and empower our internal partners to make decisions that better serve

    our students.

    The role

    In this role, you will partner with our Product, Analytics and Engineering peers to improve data at Chegg,

    executing on a grand new vision of data capture and enrichment. You will have the opportunity to work

    cross-functionally and vertically to implement Chegg's next-gen event-based data platform – driving

    improvements that streamline data creation for Engineering and enhance self-service analytics for

    Product and Analytics. Best of all, you'll have a great team along with you. You will lead a team of

    analytic data product managers, contributing to their development through coaching and prioritization

    while also driving hands-on deliveries.

    Chegg serving millions of students across the globe.

    Responsibilities


    • Elevate the Team - lead a team of analytic data product managers to improve how data is sourced,

    processed, organized and consumed, mentoring each one and influencing cross-functional partners

    to establish a network of interconnected data experts


    • Drive the Data Product Roadmap - collaborate with Product and Analytics peers to understand the

    challenges that impede data consumption, identify solutions to those challenges and their

    dependencies, then partner with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize solutions


    • Deliver Enhanced Data Solutions – deliver on Chegg's next-gen event-based data platform. Design

    instrumentation specs to guide logging and data processing, investigating data discrepancies using

    rigorous analytic methods, and draft Engineering specs to fix and prevent data issues


    • Empower Others – build and manage documentation (e.g., event catalogues, data specs) and coach

    your Product and Analytic partners to fuel self-service analytics

    Requirements


    • 5-8 years of demonstrated success in a data product, product analytics or business analytics role


    • 2+ years as a team lead or manager


    • Experience in tackling broad, ambiguous problems, defining them clearly, outlining the approach to

    resolve them and then executing on that approach


    • Top-decile listener who is able to flex their thinking in light of new evidence and respond effectively

    to diverse viewpoints


    • Robust data wrangling skills; strength in SQL, R/Python for data analysis and visualization


    • Data/technical background that allows them to sharply analyze data in both SQL and UI-based

    formats while being able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team.


    • Preferred experience in web analytics but in lieu of that, a passionate growth mindset and

    demonstrated ability to grow new skills over time
