    Are you a passionate scholar or expert looking to contribute to meaningful research work? The Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) invites talented researchers to participate in our Outsourced Research Projects scheme.

    As an Outsourced Research Project Scholar, you will have the opportunity to undertake in-depth research projects in various formats, such as Books, Monographs, and Occasional Papers. You will explore critical topics in your area of expertise and contribute valuable insights to the research community and policymakers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct thorough research on the designated project topic.

    Analyze existing literature to identify gaps and contribute to the body of knowledge.

    Formulate clear research objectives and relevant research questions.

    Develop a robust analytical framework to address the research questions effectively.

    Propose and test hypotheses that align with the research objectives.

    Utilize appropriate methodologies to gather and analyze data.

    Deliver well-structured and insightful research output with policy implications.

    Collaborate with the expert panel for project selection and review.

    FAQs:

    Q: What is the compensation structure for the Outsourced Research Projects?

    A: The compensation for the research projects will be paid in instalments as follows:

    (a) Signing amount - 20%

    (b) Submission of detailed project outline - 20%

    (c) Submission of manuscript for anonymous review – 20%

    (d) Submission of revised manuscript – 25%

    (e) Publication of the work – 15%

    Q: How long is the duration for each project type?

    A: The duration for each project type is as follows:

    Book: 18 months

    Monograph: One year

    Occasional Paper: Six months (extendable by six months if needed)

    Q: Can I submit my proposal through email?

    A: Yes, interested scholars/experts may submit their proposals either by email to or by post to the IDSA address.

    Q: What should be included in my proposal?

    A: Your proposal should be about 1000 words and include the following details:

    Justification for the proposed research, including a literature review and identification of gaps.

    Objectives of the study, research questions, and the analytical framework.

    Main testable hypothesis.

    Methodology to be employed.

    Expected research output and policy relevance.

    Bibliography.
