Job purpose:


Assisting the company with worldwide sanctions and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, including OFAC reporting, USA Patriot Act compliance, and third-party due diligence, is the role of the sanction analyst.

This position is for applicants who are motivated by working on high-profile topics and who want to play a significant part in ensuring that sanction screening is carried out to the highest standard within the company.

High performers in this position will be exposed to a variety of networks and stakeholders in sanctions, as well as further insight into sanction screening.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

A Sanctions Screening Analyst will help to make sure that transactions and shipment screenings against sanctioned companies are efficient.

Conducting data analysis, recommending mitigation measures, and proactively putting up workable ideas to lower the number of "false warnings" produced by the automated screening tool.

When necessary, do an analysis and get a better grasp of the implications and requirements of AML/OFAC.
Ensuring that policies and procedures are followed every day;
Performing ad-hoc screenings to include vendors, third-party payees, etc.; Conducting sanctions screening of real-time movement of goods and services for suspected sanctions violations;
Conduct routine screenings of clients, beneficial owners, and associated parties;
Reviewing and vetting documentation relating to trade financing (including red flags);
Adhere to operational guidelines for addressing sanctions alerts, including recording the justification for the decision
Perform analysis of probable matches against sanctions lists notified by customer and transaction sanctions screening
When further information is needed to review sanctions lists, communicate with the internal team.
Alerts that might become necessary for reporting should be escalated.

Work together with our Product team to improve automated sanctions screening risk methodology, lower the number of false positives, lower the likelihood of sanctions, and reduce sanctions risks.

Work as a team player to provide excellent customer service, going above and beyond when necessary.
Knowledge of the shipping process from booking to loading list to delivery that is relevant.
Working knowledge of appropriate regulated, risk-focused, and data analytics contexts
It is crucial to comprehend sanctions and how they operate.
Prior expertise in providing exceptional customer service.
Surpassed objectives and accomplished goals while assisting and motivating others to achieve the same.
Efficacious time management skills, awareness of their obligations, and a commitment to carrying them out in a timely manner.

A thorough knowledge of the legal and compliance frameworks governing shipping services, as well as experience operating within them (OFAC, SDN list, Sanctions countries list).

Education requirements

Graduate or Post Graduate


Language requirements:

English - English - Fluent (required)


Background and experience:

Minimum 5 Years of working experience in Sanction Screening
Previous experience in internal Audits / Control and Ethics team preferable
Excelled in driven cross-functional collaboration to ensure satisfaction and time - deliverance
Taken an active role in internal as well as external meetings together with the associated parties for clarifications
Drive process efficiency and best practice sharing
Able to adapt and use the country's Sanction Screening system quickly.
Sense of urgency; Organized;


Competencies and skills:

Graduate and/or proven experiences in business in handling DG cargo vessels.
Very good communication skills verbal and in written English
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to interact with all levels of staff and personnel.

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, as well as bend, kneel and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects.

Ability to work prolonged and/or irregular hours as needed.
