    Job Description

    The Software Engineer – Operations Engineering is a critical member of the Technical Operations Team who works in a software development studio dedicated to reliability engineering. The studio is responsible for creating and improving projects that automate routine Systems Engineering/DevOps work and provide new self-service UIs which enable Tech Ops services to be delivered on-demand. The Software Engineer will primarily deliver stories for new/improved features and may also be asked to participate in cultivating and developing ideas for new projects, systems, and UIs to achieve the team's goals.

    Responsibilities

    · Must have 3+ yrs of Node. JS expereince and total IT experience of 5yrs. Utilize experience as a full-stack software engineer to create, implement, and maintain tools and automation in collaboration with their peers in the development studio.

    · Participate in developing specifications for new projects, platforms, and tools. Utilizes expertise in SRE, DevOps, and other disciplines to advocate for new approaches to drive efficiency and availability.

    · Design and implement front-end/user-interfaces which are primarily created to assist Systems Engineers and other IT professionals do their work to deliver new business functionality efficiently and reliably.

    · Create and implement back-end services, focusing on event-driven, serverless/micro-service APIs and architectures.

    · Utilize a variety of on-prem and in-cloud technology stacks to complete both front-end and back-end work, based on the requirements of the project.

    · Write code, complete programming, review peers' code, write documentation, write tests, perform testing, and debug code in lower and production environments.

    Qualifications / YOU WILL HAVE

    · Demonstrated proficiency with current software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and best-practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development.

    · Demonstrated proficiency with serverless and micro-service architecture, particularly cloud-based solutions such as AWS Lambda. Demonstrated ability to implement in a variety of languages such as , Python, etc.

    · Demonstrated proficiency with UI development, particularly modern in-page techniques calling back-ends using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular/Polymer, etc.

    · Demonstrated understanding of how to configure and use code management, configuration, and deployment tools, including: git, github, gitlab, TFS, etc. Proficient at using modern code-management practices to work on multiple branches and merge code with peer developers.

    · Familiarity with principles of Systems Engineering/DevOps, provisioning, and monitoring/instrumentation is desired. This includes performance management and monitoring tools such as: AppDynamics, SiteScope, Splunk, etc.

    · Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes with ITIL certification is desired. This includes incident management, problem management, and knowledge management.
