Job Summary:

Cost Accountant is responsible for assisting in the cost accounting and financial analysis activities within our manufacturing unit. The role holder will work closely with the senior members of the finance team to ensure accurate costing, analysis of production costs, and support decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the calculation and analysis of product costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses. Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure the BOM's are in place in SAP and updated. If not , ensure necessary coordination to put them in place.
• Ensure the process of production costs to the sales / job orders are in place and reviewed for variances.
• Support inventory valuation processes, including inventory reconciliation, standard cost updates, and inventory variance analysis.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs and inventory.
• Assist in the preparation of manufacturing budgets and forecasts, providing insights into cost trends and variances. Investigate and analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost accounting processes and systems. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to cost accounting and inventory management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to gather data and support decision-making processes.

Qualification & Experience:

• ICWA with 1-2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Or ICWA – Inter with 4-5 yrs experience with similar experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
