General Summary:
The media planning department is accountable for using on-air promotional airtime inventory strategically to support the network priorities across South Asia.
The media planner is expected to be familiar with the assigned network's priorities, the region's broadcast landscape and the target audience's subscription television's consumption habits so as to be able to confidently recommend on air media solutions using factual analysis to develop appropriate strategies.
On a day-to-day level, the media planner will implement on air media strategies by creating transmission logs that have to be completed correctly and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Marketing, in close collaboration with Programming and Creative teams to develop long term promotional strategy and through quantitative audience analysis deliver recommendations on the number and type of promotions sustainable on each channel
- Learn and use proprietary scheduling, reporting and optimization platforms to manage on air inventory and execute on air campaigns
- Monitor and report back on campaign delivery against the planned communication targets
- Work with partner departments for all issues relating to promo material delivery, scheduling and transmission log delivery
- Ensure campaigns fit within the wider Network promotional strategy.
- Make decisions on the best use of on air inventory to achieve network rating targets by using research from industry resources
- Using analysis of viewing patterns, work with Adsales, Programming and Marketing to agree optimized break patterns and break architecture that maximize audience flow and deliver on commercial and marketing objectives.
- Be a point of contact to manage any issues that arise in the transmission of feeds assigned to you.
Requirements:
- Graduate in any discipline
- 24 years of TV media planning or buying experience with a broadcaster or media agency
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good at time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of the South Asia industry and the basic competitive environment
