Job Description Summary:

Data Scientist of Global Commercial Lending Credit Risk team is responsible for developing the credit risk strategy for commercial lending portfolio by analyzing the credit bureaus, bank & financial statements data using advanced analytical techniques.

Job Description:

Help to develop and continuously enhance risk management policies, processes and controls for mitigating credit risk exposure in the commercial lending portfolio
Identify new risk management opportunities and assess creditworthiness of businesses through deep dive analysis leveraging credit bureau, bank statement and financial statement data
Monitor credit quality of commercial loan portfolio and optimize profitbased risk management decisions at all stages of the customer credit lifecycle
Conduct quantitative analysis to decide the thresholds within which businesses can access commercial loan (for example: who is approved for commercial loan, how much loan amount do they receive, and how to improve spindown & recovery rate in collections)
Identify, evaluate, and integrate new data sources and capabilities to identify emerging credit risk trends and create robust credit risk management strategies
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that credit risk management practices are integrated into business processes
Translate ambiguous, unstructured business problems into actionable datadriven analyses
Support multiple projects at the same time in a fastpaced, resultsoriented environment
Keep uptodate with industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks related to commercial lending.

Qualification

A bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
Prior experience in using bank statement data in credit risk assessment & line calculation, commercial lending, credit risk management, or a related field is preferred
Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.
4+ years postcollege working experience within the datamining, quantitative research or analytics organization. Online Merchant Credit Lending Risk experience is a must.
Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to perform detailed analysis.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must including the ability to explain and/or present analysis.
Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
Aptitude and willingness to rollup the sleeves and get involved in the details.
Proficiency in SAS, Python and SQL.
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency
