R&D Graphics Designer
Reports To:
BD-TCI Sustaining Engineering R&D Manager- Creates and/or modifies artwork based on provided instructions.- Keeps abreast of the latest software revisions while maintaining compliance and compatibility with the Business Units.
Provides assurance that the quality of all artwork and design graphics complies with BD Medical and Corporate Brand standards.- Remains current with ongoing corporate, industry and international levels.- Good collaboration skills and is prone to ask questions when in doubt.
All artwork touchpoints are to be documented and filed appropriately and properly archived.- Develops test protocols and test procedures- Generates test reports after completion of testing- Ensures proper housekeeping of R&D Lab- Assists project leader / engineer in completing documentation required- Assist engineer to assembly and maintenance of the Design History File (DHF)- May act as R&D Lab in-charge, ensuring proper training on lab procedures, preventative maintenance for all equipment, routine calibrations, and lab safety.- Ensures proper design and development documentation as per ISO 13485/FDA QSR Quality System- Ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace by observing Company's procedures and ISO 14001 regulations.
Actively involved in prevention, elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement, and reduction of resource materials.- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Package or Mechanical engineering or Equivalent in relatable technical field of study.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Graphic Design.
- Medical device design and development experience related to highvolume manufacturing is strongly preferred.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of printing process for proper prepress work and file preparation
- Demonstrates ability as a creative designer of products and applied graphics within a 2D/3D design space.
- Extensive experience with Macintosh computer graphics and Design programs (Adobe Illustrator, In Design, Acrobat, and Photoshop) MS Excel and On-Demand Labelling software.
- Knowledgeable and adherent to BD Quality and Corporate Policies.
Skills:
- Good collaboration skills and is prone to ask questions when in doubt.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Multilingual a plus.
