    Job Overview and Responsibilities

    United Airlines' Customer Technology Platform team collaborates with business and technology leaders to develop services and applications for key airline functions, including Reservations, Seat assignment, Upgrades, Onboard Wi-Fi, Booking, Check-in, Payment, and Operational Systems, supporting United's commercial and digital Channels.

    As a senior software developer, you will lead the development of critical applications, working alongside a team of developers. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging new and existing applications with a focus on cloud-based solutions. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies and enterprise integration software, you will play a key role in advancing the team's technological capabilities.

    • Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
    • Serve as a technical expert on development projects.
    • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements.
    • Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
    • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
    • Analyze code, debug programs, and address errors.
    • Contribute to software design meetings and address user needs.
    • Recognized as an expert in the field, staying abreast of emerging trends and industry practices.
    • Carry out complex and vital work critical to the organization.
    • Work independently with complete freedom for judgment.
    • Mentor peers and demonstrate leadership as required.

    This position is offered under local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and employment visa sponsorship, even on a time-limited basis, are not available. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software systems for sale or internal use.
    • Proficiency in Software Development Languages & Tools such as C#, Web API, WCF, MS Visual Studio, MS TFS, GitHub.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft .NET Core, SQL, NoSQL, and Design Patterns.
    • Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented systems design, Application Development, Messaging, and Distributed Caching platforms.
    • Proficiency in Software Development best practices like Continuous Integration, Unit/Integration testing, and Code reviews.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Technology Stack.
    • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Cloud Computing technologies like AWS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker Containers.
    • Collaboration with architects for application development.
    • Authorized to work in India without sponsorship.
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
    • Completion of a successful interview.
    • Punctual attendance is crucial for the role.

    Preferred

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems.
    • Experience in the Airlines industry.
