    What you'll be doing

    The Global Mobility Expatriate payroll & Taxation Specialist is responsible for managing payroll and taxation for Hitachi employees that go on international assignments. They manage and provide support to the assignee, business, and other stakeholders throughout the assignment life cycle. The specialist will facilitate the administration of mobility-related benefits and compensation packages. The Specialist is also responsible for researching, modelling, and evaluating mobility programs as part of Hitachi's Total Rewards Strategy. The specialist will also have to ensure all the payroll and tax compliances are taken care of by partnering with the vendors. They are knowledgeable on leading practices and understand how global mobility fits into business strategy.

    What you bring to the team

    We're looking for a team player, who is independent and motivated by delivering great work and is aligned to Hitachi's vision. Some of the skills and experience we look for includes:

    • Supports the development and implementation of Total Rewards (mobility) strategy, programs, and policies​.
    • Researches and proposes mobility program updates based on leading practice findings and analysis​.
    • Manages expatriate payroll for assignees spread across different countries and regions.
    • Based on expatriate individual compensation and benefits entitlement, create monthly payroll input files.
    • Manage annual salary and allowances revision process for expatriates based on international assignment policy.
    • Manage and track expatriate allowance forms and approve it based on eligibility.
    • Tracking of post payroll activities and provide monthly reports to stakeholders as required.
    • Shadow payrolling as required and review tax calculations.
    • Setting up of payroll process for new countries that expatriates travel to.
    • Manage year end activities that include assignee income data collection and validation.
    • Work closely with tax consultants/ vendors and provide them clarifications on the queries raised.
    • Perform year end reconciliation of data against actuals to determine misses.
    • Taxation: preparation of authorization list to be sent to tax vendor for the tax return process
    • Creating assignee profiles on My Mobility platform
    • Managing tax notices received from authorities and work closely with vendors to resolve them.
    • Tax refunds received have to be reconciled and allocated to the correct cost centers.
    • Ensuring certificate of coverages are applied in time and submitted to the respective authorities as required​.
    • Manages day to day relationships with mobility partners and helps facilitate the resolution of support and service issues​.
    • Resolve employee queries on payroll and taxation as per the SLA.

    Special Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience
    • Vendor management
    • Experience in writing SOP's & creating process maps.
    • Knowledge of Assignment Pro – preferred
    • Experience in expatriate payroll management desired.
