Janssen Research & Development, a pharmaceutical company of Johnson and Johnson, is hiring a Principal Statistician to be located in India.

Janssen Research & Development develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide.

Research and development areas encompass novel targets in cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious diseases, hematology, immunologic disorders, and reproductive medicine.


The Principal Statistician will:

  • Support the Oncology therapeutic area and will provide statistical strategy and input into clinical development of new treatments for various cancers including hematologic malignancies and solid tumors
  • Take the lead in working with the team in designing clinical studies, leading/authoring the statistical analysis plan and providing statistical input to the clinical study report
  • Serve as the primary contact to outside investigators in the preparation of scientific presentations and manuscripts
  • Participate in process improvement, training, standards development or enhancing statistical technical expertise
  • Liaise with other statisticians within the organization, build working relationships with therapeutic area leaders, internal SAS programmers, clinical trial managers, regulatory affairs, medical writing, and other disciplines as needed
  • Work with external partners including key opinion leaders, external regulatory agencies and advisory committees, and contract research organizations

Qualifications:


Qualifications:


  • A PhD in Statistics or related field with at least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required or Master's in Statistics or related field with commensurate years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of statistical methodology are required.
  • Familiarity with statistical software such as SAS, R or SPlus is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, are required.
  • Excellent project management skills are required.
  • Up to 10% travel is required.
