    Description

    Purpose:

    The ETS Data Engineer Leader is accountable for the identification of trends and automation or customer improvement opportunities using ETS system information including ServiceNow.

    The Data Engineer's role is to design data modeling/analysis services used to mine enterprise systems and applications for knowledge and information that enhance business processes. This individual is also responsible for assisting in building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation.

    The ETS Data Engineer will report into the Business Services Leader and identify areas of operational friction, flag areas for automation, business process efficiencies, customer service trends brand reporting.

    This role requires a blend of technical expertise, curiosity, strategic thinking and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Key Accountabilities

    Strategy & Planning

    Devise, develop, and deploy required data queries in response to business user needs.

    In conjunction with data owners and department managers, develop data models and protocols for mining production databases.

    Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures.

    Identify research questions, problem solve using data analysis, and communicate the results to various stakeholders

    Operational Management

    Work with application development staff to coordinate the creation and management of data queries.

    Collaborate with unit managers, end users, development staff, and other stakeholders to integrate data management applications with existing systems.

    Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data analysis services across the organization.

    Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models.

    Create data definitions for new database file/table development and/or changes to existing ones.

    Determine required network components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity.

    Develop routines for end users to facilitate best-practice use of data management tools.

    Collaborate with database and disaster recovery administrators to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

    Monitor data management system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.

    Data Science :DATS - 4

    Investigates the described problem and dataset to assess the usefulness of data science and analytics solutions.

    Applies a range of data science techniques and uses specialized programming languages. Understands and applies rules and guidelines specific to the industry and anticipates risks and other implications of modelling.

    Selects, acquires, and integrates data for analysis. Develops data hypotheses and methods and evaluates analytics models. Advises on the effectiveness of specific techniques based on project findings and comprehensive research.

    Contributes to the development, evaluation, monitoring and deployment of data science solutions.

    Business Intelligence: BINT -4

    Supports business intelligence needs of specific management or governance processes or operational areas.

    Investigates the need for business intelligence reporting and analysis where there is some complexity and ambiguity.

    Selects and applies non-standard business intelligence tools and techniques to provide insights and aid decision-making. Selects, acquires, and integrates data for analysis.

    Identifies opportunities to digitize and streamline operational data handling and optimize business intelligence capabilities.

    Education and qualification:

    Minimum requirements

    Bachelor's Degree in the field of computer science or statistics, and/or 3+ years of equivalent work experience.

    Knowledge with ServiceNow data sources.
