What Would You Like To Tell Them ?

What Would You Like To Tell The Cabinet Members Of A School Just Coming Out Of The Investiture Ceremony ?

Dear Leaders,

Congratulations everyone! 

This in fact comes with a lot of responsibilities and expected qualities. You are going to be watched! By not just those who were blindly following you earlier, but by those also who might have looked up bit skeptically initially, but on the path to probably accepting you as a leader! It is in your hands now to prove to everyone around how impartial you are by executing your responsibilities appropriately and that also imcludes respecting the womenpower(girlpower) apart from several other aspects!

Leadership and leadership qualities are widely used (or misused?) words in every possible situation. Unfortunately, we still have a dearth of good leaders. The world would have been a much better place to live if we would have got many ethical leaders who could energize those who surround them with hell lot of positive energy to move forward to a common/acceptable and a meaningful goal that is not just realistic but meant for the benefit of all concerned (Leader has to be a good team player primary!).

So what is ethical leadership?

First of all ethical leadership is just not an idea, but it is an "action" concept. Whenever you chose to take this positive path, in the initial stages you might find it a bit difficult (may be), but in the long run only the truth prevails. By putting ethics on top of the agenda, the distinction between Right and Wrong is a natural choice for the day to day operations and never a struggle! 

So when faced with an ethical dilemma every leader should introspect on?"To whom do I owe a duty and what duty do I owe them?".... To answer this, they should use reasons to identify the higher principles they should live and act. It always pays to be good in whatever you do so that more than whatever you would have (probably) gained in the short term by doing something not acceptable would far outweigh the trust and value the ethical practices would bring in on a long term basis.

Never take any action that will interfere with the right of others for self development and self fulfillment. That is why an added measure of accountability should be placed on globally, influential persons, organizations, agencies, institutions and governments! It makes sense to always remember this quote when in confusion "Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do" 

Leaders should be true Energizers; Why? And How is this #Musthavequlaity helpful? 

Energizers help move the ball forward in the smoothest possible manner and the result is achieved even faster without us even knowing about it! They could easily convert negativity to positivism. Most of the natural leaders are very good at influencing positively. They genuinely care… It is hard to fake!

 The beauty with the energizer personalities is that it would have been tough for them (going might have been not favorable for them personally and they might be fighting something difficult in their life) but they still would be able to instill confidence, hide all that they are going through and infuse energy and enthusiasm. They are good at holding people together. They have the courage to embrace change if needed

Some people become leaders no matter what their chosen path because their positive energy is so uplifting. Even in tough times, they always find a way. They seem to live life on their terms even when having to comply with someone else’s requirements. When they walk into a room, they make it come alive. When they send a message, it feels good to receive it. Their energy makes them magnets, attracting other people. The best way to inspire people to superior performance is to convince them by everything you do and by your everyday attitude that you are wholeheartedly supporting them.

(One should have bundles of positive energy which allows them to tackle challenges. So if you are aspiring to become a leader then you should start developing this art! Of being able to make decisions during difficult times even when supported by minimum reliable background information! Without getting disturbed!)

Why #womenpower is an imporatant factor?

When it comes to challenging situations, women are able to use their inner strength effectively.In trying times they tend to work in the best possible manner in line with the interests of the entire household (or team) they are part and parcel of. So it up to leaders to understand that creating a climate of comfort for women would help in achieving greater gender balance enabling also more women to take up leadership roles.

All the very best to each one of you in your leadership journey.

And the best advice?  "People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude"
