    Description
    Dear Candidate,


    We have a requirement for Apparel designer, with experience in the retail industry, who is capable of understanding market trends, designing/developing clothing that is in line with the brand ethos,Strong understanding of design concepts coupled with pattern making, draping, garment construction and graphic/print development (on software) for textiles is a must.

    Worked for mainstream womens wear retail brands (not boutiques) like Fabindia, Biba,

    Westside, Pantaloons, etc

    Please find below the job responsibilities:

    • Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or a style for each garment2. Work with other designers or team members to create prototype designs. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, production, and marketing, to create prototype designs from concept to production3. Present design ideas to creative directors or showcase their ideas in fashion or trade shows4. Market designs to clothing retailers or to consumers5. Generate creative ideas and concepts for new apparel collections that align with brand identity and target market6. Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and digital renderings of apparel designs using design software and traditional techniques7. Research and source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories for each design, considering quality, cost, and availability8. Stay informed about current fashion trends and consumer preferences9. Prepare and deliver presentations of design concepts, mood boards, and sample collections

    Essential Skills Required:

    • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and sewing techniques2. Excellent understanding of textiles, fabrics, and material sourcing3. Creative thinking and trend forecasting abilities4. Strong graphic design skills5. Good communication skills
