Geospatial Data Scientist - Image Processing

Educational Qualification:

1] Bachelor's Degree in Statistics/ Economics/ Mathematics/Engineering/Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics/ Geospatial Technology/ Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics from a recognized University/Institute
OR
2] Post Graduate Degree or Diploma specializing in Geospatial Technology/ Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics from a recognized University/Institute

Desirable Qualification:

Master's Degree in any of the Quantitative Disciplines mentioned in Essential Qualification

Experience:

2+ years' experience in geospatial domain of processing and analysis of satellite imagery and other geospatial datasets.
Sound understanding of image processing and remote sensing concepts.
Experience in handling raster and vector datasets with different image formats. Familiarity in assessing different data sets from geoportals such as Bhuvan-Bhoonidhi.
Familiarity in handling and developing use cases using Multispectral satellite data.
Skilled in statistical modelling and data analysis with proficiency in different statistical software and geoprocessing in R software.
Proficient in creating machine learning models and delivering insights and actionoriented solutions to problems.
Handson experience working with Google Earth Engine, ERDAS Imagine, QGIS/ArcGIS and other GIS softwares, tools and packages.
Working knowledge of Python and its libraries such as GDA/OGR, Geopandas, Fiona
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Build use cases and create innovative insights from Optical and Microwave imagery data to solve real world problems.
Conduct research and develop scalable analytical models based on statistical techniques and latest approaches
Perform manipulation, geoprocessing/spatial analysis using geospatial models and tools.
Manage and maintain data and metadata, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a selfcontributor role.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand project requirements and ensure timely delivery of the solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies related to geospatial analytics.

Employment Model:

All positions are on fixed term contract on a full-time basis exclusively

for ReBIT, initially for a period of five years, extendable by mutual consent.
