Structured hybrid role:

Introduction:

  • Accountable for timely & accurate monthend close process for Compensation and Benefits across business clusters & functions. This includes Bonus accounting for Discretionary bonus and Share based payments, accounting for Postretirement benefits and Redundancy costs.
  • Custodian of Performance Cost accruals for the Group and to maintain confidentiality of accounting adjustments
  • Managing external disclosures in Annual Report
  • Notes to Financial Statements for Staff costs, Share based Payments and Pensions
What will you be doing?

  • Accountable for timely & accurate monthend close process across clusters & functions
  • Accountable for nonperformance cost bookings like Redundancy costs, ageing calculation of balances, residual maturity
  • Quarterly Bank levy payments and annual accrual of Bank levy
  • Work with Change Management team on various finance project impacting the team and function
  • Ensure all control and governance activities are regularly carried and update provided to management like EUDA review, RCSA etc
Month end Close

  • Provide Month end close support for multiple functions, facing off to the Cost Lead & FBPs and Legal Entity Controllers
  • Support MI preparation for Internal and External reporting as per IFRS2 and IAS 19 standards
  • Ledger closure
  • Review and analysis of month end postings, perform post governance to ensure monthend landing position is accurate and process necessary adjustments adhering to FLC guideline.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Signoff
  • Substantiation and reconciliation of all postings by the team, Balance sheet reporting by account line & Account Ownership signoff
  • Liaising with Finance Business Partners and leads across business clusters & functions.
  • Liaising with internal / external auditors

Control and governance:

  • Monitoring and highlighting the risk and opportunities
  • Ensure adherence of team control requirements
  • Escalates risk and opportunities appropriately
  • Has the mindset to strive to identify potential control breakdowns in process, also demonstrated with effective procedure manuals
Reporting

  • Presenting Regional Performance cost and Redundancy packs to SMT and controllers
  • Produce accurate, timely and reliable Balance sheet metrics covering all clusters and functions
  • Update and improve reports (in line with business objectives) focusing on scalability, efficiency and effectiveness

Project/Transformation:

  • Provide active support in executing Transformation Projects, Faster ledger close projects

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA
  • Experience in Financial Reporting, Control, Planning and/or Analytics
  • Strong knowledge of IAS 19 Employee Benefits, IAS37 and IFRS 2 Share Based Payments
  • Highly motivated selfstarter and Strong planning & organisational skill
  • Strong Excel and presentation skills. Require to produce different set of MI/decks on performance cost thus would require knowledge of PowerPoint and analytical mindset
  • Strong control awareness, Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication verbal and written, role demands frequent interaction with senior management
