Hi there

We are Almabase - a bootstrapped, profitable B2B SaaS company with a mission to make education affordable for everyone. We're doing this by enabling institutions to raise more funds from their alumni. The idea started from our founders' struggle with the lack of scholarships when they were students. Our customers are usually staff in the alumni relations/advancement offices of educational institutions.

The value prop for them at a high level is simple - "Engage more alumni and raise more money from them." Currently, about 90% of our customers are from the US, but starting in 2024, we're expanding our market to the UK and Canada as well.

Our team is based in India and the USA. The Indian team is based in Bangalore, and the US team is fully remote.


The Opportunity:


The Marketing team is in a unique position - we've just scratched the surface of leveraging multiple channels to enrich our sales funnel.

In 2024, we plan on doubling our efforts to make these channels consistent sources of pipeline to fulfill our company's ambitious goals.

We're also keen on exploring new markets as we expand into the UK and Canada (thanks to our strategic partnership with Blackbaud).

And that's where the skills of a Marketing Specialist come in.


Key Responsibilities:

Here's a sneak peek of the exciting projects a Growth Marketer will get to work on:

  • Campaigns and content to position Almabase as a thought leader for teams looking to increase donor participation within their alumni community.
  • Growth Marketing programs to help improve conversion rates across various stages of the funnel through drip campaigns, social media campaigns, ABM, etc.
  • Planning and promoting our virtual events to ensure leads are constantly flowing in at various stages of the funnel.
  • Creating strategies for PR activities through various channels.
  • Collaborate with our designers and developers to create content for eBooks, landing pages, guides, conference collateral, and other relevant content.
  • Work crossfunctionally with Sales/Customer Success/Product Marketing on mutually dependent projects.
  • 12 years of relevant B2B Marketing experience (SaaS/Edtech/experience in the US market is a plus)
  • Exceptional writing skills. We prefer someone with strong storytelling skills who can construct and convince with words.
  • Someone with a successful track record of building successful marketing campaigns from scratch and reaping the benefits upon execution.
  • Great research skills and a keen eye for details.
  • Understand content marketing/distribution concepts, and leverage data for decisionmaking.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing/automation tools is a musthave. We have a simple saying at Almabase if the interaction isn't on HubSpot, then it never happened. (_yes we're super reliant on our CRM_).
  • Basic design knowledge is also a must.
  • Someone who loves to come up with new ideas (and can execute them) will feel right at home.

How we will set you up for success:

  • We will provide you a comprehensive training as well as resources to learn Marketing best practices in SaaS.
  • During the first 3 weeks, you will have oneonone calls with each person in the sales & marketing team to get to know them.
  • You will be involved in a monthly oneonone with your manager to discuss feedback and the scope of improvement, apart from regular mentoring by the rest of the team.
  • You'll have a lot of creative freedom to execute new ideas. As long as you can convince us, and you're confident in your skills, we're here to back you in your execution.

What your first month at Almabase will look like:


First 30 days:


  • You will learn the ins and outs of our industry, our audience (and their pain points), and our competitors.
  • Learn about our product knowing what you're trying to sell, and whom you're trying to sell to.
  • You will also spend time getting to know the teammates you'll work with down the line.

First 60 days:


  • You will create and curate impactful content, and distribute them based on existing playbooks, as well as new ideas.
  • You would then measure the success of your work, based on predefined metrics.
  • You will also proactively work on identifying new pain points for our prospects and creating valuable content that's engaging and relevant at the top of the funnel.

First 90 days:


  • After getting comfortable with the way things work around, you'll get the opportunity to think of ideas that can make a huge impact, and execute them (we're here to guide you, of course).
