General Description:
This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring seamless Air, Ocean, F&E, Projects freight operations to generate healthy gross profits, achieve volume budgets and ensure customer satisfaction.
This role also includes overall management of the sales functions including development of sales plans to achieve targets and objectives, monitoring performance, and implementing effective sales strategies to increase market share for the organization.
Specific Accountabilities:
Create, articulate, and drive the local strategies across customer segments.
Leads a local sales team to ensure delivery of business objectives and targets.
Drive Initiatives to accelerate business growth.
Leverages understanding of the local business environment to support development of the sales strategy.
Oversees forecasting and budgeting processes to align with business goals and ensure the location budgets are achieved.
Act as the commercial interface with customers and effectively manage customer escalations.
To consolidate the end-to-end Air and Ocean freight activities by formulating and implementing SOPs for each department to ensure that operations function smoothly.
To drive efficiency in Branch operations by implementing operational excellence in projects to ensure that the business performance metrics are met.
Liaison with the shipping lines, airlines and customs and accurate documentation to ensure timely deliveries to the customer leading to high customer satisfaction.
Work with the sales and the finance teams to manage the credit limit of the customer to maintain the DSO benchmark of the organization and to monitor and reduce the loss files of the customer to maintain an adequate flow of working capital for that branch.
Specific Skills Required:
Proven Commercial and operations track record.
Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives.
Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, problem solving approach and ability to work within a team-oriented structure.
Strong understanding of financial and commercial management and reporting.
Strong Business acumen and sales experience.
Sound Knowledge and understanding in general Administration.
Good Knowledge of Air and Ocean freight products.
Distinctive intercultural competency:
able to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong rapport and credibility both internally and externally.
Experience and Qualifications:
Graduation in any stream. MBA/PGDM in Management is preferred.
10-12 years industry experience is a must. At least 2-3 years of relevant leadership role in the relevant industry.
