    JOB SUMMARY

    We are building a new tooling team at Boku. The goal for this team is to help Boku improve its operational efficiency by building tools and tooling platforms for other teams. Primary stakeholders for these tools and platforms will be engineering teams and secondary stakeholders will be few operational teams at Boku. As part of this role, you will be challenged to build end to end platform/libraries using which we will build future scalable applications at Boku. We are looking to onboard an engineering manager for this team who has experience experiencing in managing a team of engineers along with development experience in backend and frontend technologies. This position is going to be based in Mumbai. We are working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work from home or office as and when needed. In the initial phase we expect manager to spend more time in office so that they familiarize more with the team and Boku's culture.

    • RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Lead a small team of 3-5 engineers to include hiring, performance management, career development, etc
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to the team to build tools to improve operational efficiency of various teams at Boku
  • Interface with other teams such as Project Management and Operations for requirement gathering and planning
  • Independently make technical and business decisions that lead to the successful execution and rollout of a project
  • Work hands-on with a highly skilled team of engineers
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and release
  • Be highly motivated and maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude in a fast-moving environment
  • Foster the spirit of collaboration across multiple internal and external teams
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to improve Engineering as a whole

    • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in related disciplines
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Software Engineering
  • Experience with managing or leading a team of engineers as a Technical Lead or Team Lead
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain technical design, best practices, and integration guide to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong software design and architecture skills
  • Experience building products that are hosted in the cloud (AWS, GCP, etc).
  • Experience with building UI based applications is added advantage
  • Experience with building service-oriented, database driven applications
  • Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: Maven, Git, MySQL, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Jersey, Jetty. ReactJS, AngularJS, Vue, etc.
  • Experience using agile methodologies and tools
  • Experience working on high-volume and low-latency systems
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills
