    Database Engineer


    About Us:


    Join our forward-thinking Data Center of Excellence team, a collaborative group dedicated to upholding database standards, implementing best practices, and ensuring continuous availability for all transactional database clusters on our cloud platform.

    As a key member of this vibrant team, you will work closely with engineering teams across various platforms, assisting them in constructing and optimizing databases to meet project data needs.


    Key Responsibilities:
    - Identify optimal installation solutions for new databases.
    - Collaborate with application teams to assess data/database requirements and propose effective solutions.
    - Work with the Infrastructure team to build database platforms, oversee security patching, and enforce best practices.
    - Handle critical P1 and P2 production issues in collaboration with application and platform teams.
    - Collaborate with the platform team to boost database performance, assess data storage requirements, and explore scaling options.
    - Identify areas for enhancement in current database systems and suggest improvements.
    - Develop database solutions for the secure storage and retrieval of sensitive data like PII and PCI.
    - Configure and set up information systems to ensure smooth operations.
    - Analyze structural needs for new software and applications, ensuring they align with database capabilities.
    - Implement data migration plans and ensure efficient, secure data storage methods.

    Qualifications:
    - Solid grasp of various RDBMS systems and NoSQL databases.
    - Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL DB.
    - Proficiency in troubleshooting database queries and enhancing query performance.
    - Ability to collaborate productively with diverse teams, including Solution Architects, SysOps, Data Engineers, and Application Development teams.
    - Familiarity with metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (e.g., Erwin, ER Studio).
    - Desirable experience in Cloud DB management.
    - Knowledge of database management software.
    - Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
    - Capability to convey and clarify database configuration changes to the Infrastructure team.
    - Expertise in implementing data replications, sharding, and high availability solutions.
    - Advantageous familiarity with data modeling.
    - Background in team management, communication, and presentation.
    - Ability to simplify intricate concepts for clear communication.
    - Strong interpersonal skills.
