Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Intern to join our team in the retail industry.

This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of finance, accounting, and business analysis, providing an excellent opportunity for learning and professional growth in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis: Assist in conducting financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support decision-making and strategic planning processes.

Budgeting and Planning: Support the budgeting and planning process by gathering and analyzing financial data, preparing budget reports, and assisting in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support the accounts payable and receivable process by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the management of vendor relationships and payments.

Financial Modeling: Assist in developing financial models and scenarios to evaluate business performance, analyze investment opportunities, and assess the impact of strategic initiatives on financial outcomes.

Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and supporting schedules for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and addressing any audit findings or recommendations.

Ad Hoc Projects: Support the finance team on ad hoc projects and initiatives, including process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and special analyses as needed.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a degree program or recent graduate with a focus on finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports and analyses.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and communicate financial information to nonfinance stakeholders.
Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced retail environment.
Familiarity with financial software and tools, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, preferred but not required.
