    Description

    Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Production and review of the UK GAAP statutory financial statements, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the ledger and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Production and review of the MGG's consolidated IFRS results, including review of BU inputs, eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
  • Production and review of monthly consolidation for MGG, producing a consolidated income statement and balance sheet
  • Analytical review of the financial Statements and ledger reconciliations.
  • Oversee Group reporting under IFRS and review associated workbooks prior to submission to M&G plc Group Head Office using Tagetik, ensuring all reporting and disclosure requirements are met.
  • Manage the UK Reporting team providing the support, guidance and leadership required to enable the team to fulfil their roles and to continue to develop and grow along with the business.
  • Exercise sound judgement and evaluate various potential solutions to reporting questions considering the implications on accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Leading on answering queries and providing information to the Auditors and the Group Finance team for all MGG Consolidation matters.
  • Collaborate with data providers to meet reporting requirements.
  • Review of board packs and dashboards for Operational and Executive Committees.
  • Ensuring accurate MI reporting and analysis, to provide crucial insights for strategic business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS), and Group Head Office procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to the delivery of other finance change projects supporting programmes with detailed accounting requirements and impact analysis.
  • Evaluate and enhance processes and procedures to accommodate business changes.
  • Support continuous improvement through regular and customised analyses.
  • Strategically plan and allocate tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance, ensuring that Group reporting needs are communicated, understood and met.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, taking personal responsibility to drive any enhancements to controls to support improvement of the overall control environment.
