    Description

    IBM Mainframe Developer100%

    Mode : Remote.


    Location : India.

    Duration : 12 Months plus contract.

    Salary : DOE.

    Work Shift Hours : 1:00 to 10:00 PM IST.

    Job Description :

    - The IBM Mainframe Developer would need to have at least 5+ years of experience.

    - Application development experience in Design, coding, testing and debugging with mainframe skills such as CICS, VSAM, COBOL, DB2, JCL, SCLM.

    - Should be able to write queries to interact with DB2.

    - Execute various forms of testing - unit, system, regression, integration.

    - Should have knowledge on promoting code to production using any of the tools, good to have SCLM and IN-SYNCH.

    - Manages all aspects of implementation planning & coordination.

    - Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to a wide range of problems.

    - Experience in fixing job abends and working on minor enhancements.

    - Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, and implement the minor enhancements.

    - Should be willing to learn new technologies and collaborate with the team.

    .Responsibilities :

    Designing, coding, testing, and implementing mainframe applications and systems.

    Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand project objectives.

    Analyzing user requirements and translating them into technical specifications.

    Developing efficient and reliable programs using mainframe languages such as COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.

    Debugging and troubleshooting issues in existing mainframe applications.

    Performing code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.

    Ensuring compliance with coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.

    Documenting technical specifications, procedures, and user manuals as needed.

    Participating in system integration testing and user acceptance testing.

    Providing ongoing support and maintenance for mainframe applications, including resolving production issues and implementing enhancements.

    Requirements :

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.

    Proficiency in mainframe languages and tools, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and IBM utilities.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

    Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Experience with version control systems and change management processes.

    Knowledge of mainframe modernization techniques and emerging technologies is a plus.
