    Work Responsibilities

    As a Mercari Program Manager, you will lead large projects for the various Mercari projects that bridge departments and teams as well as take the lead in creating and carrying out plans for strategic initiatives.

    Depending on the project, communication with teams in Japan, or teams in the US is necessary.

    Not only will you identify issues in our processes for product development, as well raise problems and implement improvements, you will also promote the implementation and practical use of agile development for features where development spans more than one team.

    Specific work responsibilities for this position include the following:

    OKR Tracking and reporting
    Coordinate with related Product Managers and stakeholders to drive milestone setting and decision-making. This involves not only India members but also members from various oversea countries
    Promote the program and accurately share with the relevant stakeholders any progress and risks involved in an entire program
    Work with the cross-functional teams to manage prioritisation, execution and monitoring of project activities
    Influence business, operational and technical teams to ensure that best practices are followed and implemented
    Champion the key pillars of

    Program Change Management:
    Stakeholder management, Communications, Training, Metrics, Resistance management and Recognition practices
    Identify gaps in the technology and work with the teams to drive improvements

    The Mercari marketplace app has been downloaded by millions of users mainly in Japan and the US, and each individual user utilizes the service in their own particular way.

    In order to implement large projects (programs), initiatives, and more amid these challenges, we involve various divisions and multiple development teams in implementation.

    Requirements

    Those who agree with the mission and values of the Mercari Group and each company
    Enthusiasm for strengthening the engineering organization
    5 years or more experience as a project manager or engineer leader
    Experience in detecting and resolving product and organizational issues on your own
    Experience in designing and actually implementing systems and rules for teams and organizations (rules for small teams are also acceptable)
    In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban
    Experience/Understanding of technical concepts relevant to cloud, front-end and back-end development methodologies, APIs, and software engineering
    Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from initiation to completion.
    Preferred Experience
    Development experience as a software engineer
    Experience as an engineering manager
    Experience in promoting projects with many stakeholders
