    Sigmoid works with a variety of clients from start-ups to fortune 500 companies.

    We arelooking for a detailed oriented self-starter to assist our engineering and analytics teams invarious roles as a Software Development Engineer.

    This position will be a part of a growing team working towards building world class large scaleBig Data architectures.

    This individual should have a sound understanding of programmingprinciples, experience in programming in Java, Python or similar languages and can expect tospend a majority of their time coding.

    Responsibilities:

    • Good development practices1.
    Hands on coder with good experience in programming languages like Java,Python or Scala.2.

    Strong problem solving and algorithm and data structures skills is a must.3.

    Hands-on experience on the Big Data stack like Hadoop, Mapreduce, Spark,Hbase, and ElasticSearch.4.

    Good understanding of programming principles and development practices like checkin policy, unit testing, code deployment5.

    Self starter to be able to grasp new concepts and technology and translate them into large scale engineering developments6.

    Excellent experience in Application development and support, integration development and data management.


    • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology to ensure the greatest ROI for customer & Sigmoid1.
    Hands on coder with good understanding on enterprise level code2. Design and implement APIs, abstractions and integration patterns to solve challenging distributed

    computing problems3.

    Experience in defining technical requirements, data extraction, data transformation, automating jobs, productionizing jobs, and exploring new big data technologies within a Parallel Processing environment


    Qualifications:

    to 9 years of track record of relevant work experience and a computer Science or related technical discipline is required- Experience with functional and object-oriented programming, Java, Python or Scala is a must.- Hands-on experience on the Big Data stack like Hadoop, Mapreduce, Spark, Hbase, and ElasticSearch.- Good understanding on AWS services and experienced in working with API's, microservices.

    - Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)- Experience in agile methodology
