Mission


The Transport Controller is responsible for controlling of incoming & outgoing shipments; with the customers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, ship agents, customs personnel, warehouses, truckers, and up to receiving of delivery and must provide the client with the best overall service levels, meet & exceed established goals for on-time pick-up and delivery with proactive approach.

The role requires knowledge of logistics Transport coordination & control.

TRANSPORT OPERATIONS -INDIA, PRODUCTION LOGISTICS


We are a team supporting production plants of Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment, Penta, VE Powertrain on Domestic & International Material Transport flows, Product Transport flows and we also manage Packaging Material for the Group Operations.

We are managing Material exports from India to Renault Trucks France, Volvo Group Australia and CBU Exports to South East Asian countries.

We are a passionate team operating from Bangalore (Hoskote, Peenya) and Pithampur sites


ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for coordination with GTO-PL approved Liners, Forwarders, Transporters, CHA's, Overseas offices & Customers for lining up Sea/ Air/ Surface Freight movements. Close coordination with Customer (Internal & External) for their day to day requirements. Monitoring end to end activities (transportation, custom clearance, freight, delivery)


  • Maintaining KPI's

  • Formalize, Record and Maintain KPI for customers
  • Arrange structured meetings with Customers (Internal/ external) and LSPs
  • Working closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines;
  • Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the Management Reports
  • Proactively work with transportation & shipping teams to identify shipments at risk of not meeting delivery expectations based on mode, service level, miles and equipment type
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
  • Follow escalation process for deviation reporting to Material Controllers
  • Monitoring correct usage of support Systems like ATLAS/ XTR / A4D etc supporting Transport operations
  • Participate & contribute to morning meetings, VPS & 5S activities
  • Monitoring & controlling Pre-Carriage, Freight & On
  • Carriage activities & cost.
  • Communication to Overseas Volvo plants/ suppliers/ customers for Imports/ Exports flows

  • University/college graduated.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Foreign Trade & Transport Logistics with ability of time bound problem resolution
  • Fluent in English & Good Communication Skills

  • High on Integrity and Strong Ethics
  • Priority Setting
  • Proficient in Interpersonal skills & strong in customer service relationship
  • Selfmotivated & Innovative
