Crewing Manager Position at Seafarer's Recruitment

Join our team as a Crewing Manager and take on the responsibility of overseeing seafarer planning, manpower requirements, and providing guidance to our crewing team to ensure smooth seafarer deployment procedures.

• Ensure seafarer planning and procedures comply with vessel-related statutory, company, and client's requirements
• Support the General Manager in preparing vessel budgets by analyzing crewing budget and expenditure reports
• Maintain accurate information in Crewing software and align seafarers' skill as per vessel's needs
• Manage crewing operations within the approved budget, monitor retention, and facilitate effective rotation of seafarers
• Review wage scales, monthly budget compliance, and document rationale for deviations from annual budget estimates
• Provide regular performance feedback, set clear expectations, and evaluate team performance
• Address underperformance effectively, plan promotions, and beneficial attrition to enhance team performance
• Brief seafarers on vessel-specific matters and policy issues before their embarkation
• Oversee grievance investigations and disciplinary matters to ensure compliance with organizational guidelines
• Handle Crewing issues from clients and seafarers, resolving them promptly and providing support during crisis management on vessels
• Communicate with internal and external parties to achieve business outcomes
• Forecast crew recruitment needs based on internal requirements
• Engage with seafarers and their families to provide extended support for seafarers' wellness and engagement initiatives
• Report occupational accidents, injuries, and illnesses promptly to relevant bodies
• Contribute as a high-performing team member aligning with the company's business strategy and values

Requirements:

• Degree in Maritime Management or equivalent
• Seafaring experience as Deck officer/Engineer officer on Bulk carriers/Container ships/Car Carriers/Tankers
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Crewing of Dry vessel fleets or Tankers
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of professional and courteous interactions at all levels
• Open-minded, flexible in task prioritization, and willing to learn new responsibilities
