- Develops deep expertise in specialized research tools, databases, and other information sources.
- Should have fair knowledge of FMCG and associated industries such as consumer durables, retail, and luxury goods. Some exposure to the development sector or public health or policy making will be preferable.
- Should be able to bring an industry understanding of the client €TMs organization which would include products, customer segments, competitive forces and trends shaping the industry.
- Takes pro-active role in quality control process for the client and coaches and mentors subordinates.
- Conducts and initiates various training, allied activities with the team and the group.
- Identifying and recommending potential strategic markets and solution areas by cross referencing available primary and secondary data along with prior industry knowledge.
- Analyzing competitive market strategies through analysis of related competitor products
- Performing market segment and sizing studies, opportunity analysis and technology analysis.
- Providing competitive intelligence by preparing deliverables around Scorecards,
- Benchmarking, Competitive News Tracking, Financial assessment, etc.
- Proactively lead pre-sales activities, understand client business problems, identify right solutions, develop proposals, toolkits etc.
- Master's degree in the relevant field
- 3 – 6 years of experience in research or consulting.
- Seasoned research professional with cross industry experience in FMCG, Public Health, Consumer Durables, Retail etc.
- Conversant with both secondary and primary research
- Updated with current events in the industry and ability to identify key trends shaping the industry.
- Knowledge of major players in the industry and competitive landscape
- Understanding of standard research processes and methodologies
- Highly adept in understanding business issues and translating them into research priorities.
- Exposure of client front-ending, client management, account mining and business development
- Ability to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner with utmost level of responsibility.
- Effective communicator with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
- Challenging current thinking by implementing new ways of working
- Possess a flexible and detail-oriented attitude.
- Ability to identify pro-active ways to contribute to firm €TMs goals and mission.
- Ability to understand the business consulting environment, language, and processes.
- Ability to manage and mentor people and identify development plans.
