    Job Description for Associate Director - Network Operation

    Associate Director of Network Operation Center (NOC) is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of an organization's network Infrastructure specially SLTE, CLS, NOC and Submarine cable systems mgmt.

    Overview:

    The Associate Director of Network Operations Center (NOC) plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of an organization's network infrastructure.

    This position involves overseeing the team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Network to ensure high availability, reliability, and security.

    This position required high level of People management skill.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Planning:
    Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the organization's network operations to meet current and future business needs.

    Team Leadership:

    Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, technicians, and analysts to ensure effective network monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.


    Network Monitoring:

    Implement and manage network monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.


    Incident Management:

    Establish procedures for incident detection, response, and resolution, including escalation protocols for critical issues, to minimize impact on business operations.


    Capacity Planning:
    Monitor network capacity and performance metrics, and plan for future expansion or upgrades to accommodate growing business needs.

    Security Management:

    Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls, to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.


    Vendor Management:

    Manage relationships with network service providers, equipment vendors, and contractors to ensure timely resolution of issues and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).


    Compliance and Standards:

    Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001), and implement best practices for network operations and security.


    Documentation and Reporting:

    Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incidents, and provide regular reports to senior management on network performance, uptime, and security posture.


    Continuous Improvement:

    Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization of network operations, and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Extensive experience (12+ years) in Telecom operations
    specially on SDH, DWDM, DCN, ASON, OTN and submarine technologies

    with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.

    • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
    • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, and architectures, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DWDM, OTN, OSI.
    • Hands-on experience in delivery and operations mgmt. for SLTE, CLS, PFE in India and overseas.
    • Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SLTE EMS, UMS, Infinera TNMS, DNA, Ciena OneControl).
    • Familiarity with security principles and practices, including network security controls and threat detection/mitigation techniques.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Certifications (Preferred):

    • ITIL Foundation
    • PMP
