Responsible for the ordering, tracking, and overall coordination required for circuit installations. Analyzes service requests to determine circuit requirements and priorities. Uses provisioning tools to process customer service orders and activate service.


Working at NTT
The Network Provisioning Specialist is responsible for all aspects of ordering, tracking and coordination required for network installation. This position uses network provisioning tools to process customer service orders and network service activation.


Key Role and Responsibilities:


  • Order, track and coordinate network circuit installations
  • Analyse service requests to determine network circuit requirements and prioritises
  • Use network provisioning tools to process customer service orders and service activation
  • Provide help and support to other divisions of the company
  • Plan and coordinate tasks adhering to schedules and project deadlines
  • Work closely with several teams to coordinate network projects
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders in terms of network design validation and circuit turn up and testing
  • Maintain accurate circuit inventories
  • Order processing of line conversions, installations, disconnects and changes
  • Schedule all test and turn ups of new carrier circuit with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Analysis of pole lines for required conductor spacing, separation, clearance and physical element strength
  • Ensure design drawings and calculation packages are complete and ready for review
  • Perform circuit acceptance in a timely manner to minimise company costs
  • Maintain accurate customer database records including circuit facility assignment, IP address assignments, and edge router configuration information
  • Maintain accurate status of assigned circuit orders and process orders in a timely manner
  • Gather and translate business requirements into connectivity specifications
  • Reviews and verifies network designs against nonfunctional requirements, including validation and error correction procedures, access, security and audit controls
  • Specifies design parameters for network connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security and access, in line with business requirements
  • Assesses networkrelated risks and specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures

Knowledge, skills and attributes:


  • Ability to design and select system components
  • Ability to plan effectively and make sound decisions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of technical standards for the design of the outside network
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced and highly energetic environment
  • Ability to use a variety of design tools
  • Understanding of provisioning and troubleshoot protocols
  • Ability to work effectively independently
  • Proven fault identification and analysis skills
  • Ability to separate and troubleshoot layer 2 and 3 technologies and connectivity
  • Knowledge of business and best practices through the understanding of key business drivers and recognition

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Relevant certification such as a CCNA certification preferred

Experience required:


  • Proven circuit inventory management experience
  • Demonstrated ethernet, and/or DWDM circuit design, provisioning or equivalent engineering experience
  • Previous order fulfilment experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with and provisioning to third party carriers
  • Demonstrated experience documenting network facilities and circuits
  • Demonstrated experience working within a telecommunication company
  • Prior experience in similar IT roles, with a focus on network provisioning design
  • Proven working experience in a largescale organisation
  • Demonstrated experience working in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
