Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator for the management of the overall SAP environment with responsibilities like implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment.

The administrator is also responsible for the installation, upgrade and maintenance of SAP systems as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system.

The resource should be able to do configuration, monitor, and tuning of the sap technical environment.

Also, be able to design interfaces between the SAP and external systems, optimize & analyze performance issues, and design the architecture of the landscape.


Key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Do client administration like local client copy, remote client, client export/import, and create & deleting the clients.
  • Create and restore data backups.
  • Do printer or spool configuration & administration.
  • Manage the database & buffer space allocation.
  • Knowledge on SAP ECC/S4Hana Installation, Upgrade, Refresh, transformation strategies and implementation
  • Expertise in DB Installation Upgrade Refresh and DB performance tuning
  • Expertise in SAP Version Upgrade Support pack upgrade, upgrade kernel and OS DB Migration
  • Expertise in SAP ECC/HANA Administration and troubleshooting Expertise in SAP SSO SAML.
  • Handson experience in executing large EndtoEnd Implementations and / or large Cloud Migrations of SAP, Database Migration, Upgrades, OS/DB Migrations, S/4HANA Conversion Projects etc.
  • Provide Support and Guidance to the other Project and Development teams during the build, test and productive operation of project implementation.
  • Setup and Configuration of Solution Manager Dashboards in order to monitor and administer the SAP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work in a team environment, understand and be responsive to project and customer needs.
  • Ability to adapt and function effectively in a fastpaced, changing environment while working under deadlines.
  • A record of taking initiatives, driving results and accepting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Build credible relationships with peers and vendors and continuous professional learning of SAP products.

Administration Task List:

Daily Tasks:

  • Check SAP system is up & running.
  • Check DB/SAP/OS system logs.
  • Check CCMS alerts
  • Check all work process status
  • Check the background jobs status.
  • Check the lock table and failed updates.
  • Check dumps status.
  • Most importantly check response time, CPU utilization & memory usage. In addition, Check over all SAP performance and usage issues.
  • Check the database performance & free space.
  • Check the Archive directory status.
  • SAP standard background jobs are running successfully. Review for cancelled and critical jobs.
  • Check for OS level alerts
  • Review SAPDBA calendar job logs

Weekly Tasks:

  • Cleanup spool.
  • Clean up the transport buffers.
  • Check the spool requests.
  • Review the security audit log.
  • Check the database consistency.
  • Monitor the total DB growth & free space.
  • Monitor the table size growth.
  • Analyze Early Watch Alerts reports.
  • Run TemSe consistency check
  • Check for adequate file system space

Monthly Tasks:

  • Defragment the memory.
  • Monitor the Database growth.
  • Check the directory structure.
  • Cleanup the old logs.

Quarterly Tasks:

  • User security overview
  • Review SAP profile parameters
  • Review the standard scheduled jobs
  • Test the backup by restoring
  • Archive the old transport files
  • Maintain SAPDBA and database parameter files
  • Review maintenance contracts for all hardware / software
  • Check for usage versus licensing

Annual Tasks:

  • Audit user security
  • Audit profiles and authorizations
  • Review user roles
  • Maintain activity groups/profiles
  • Cleanup clients in test/development systems
  • Check workbench organizer settings.
  • Refresh test system.
  • Simulate disaster recovery/failover testing
Job Qualifications &


Required Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Fast learner, selfmotivated and should have the ability to influence across organizations, proven collaboration skills, comfortable working with some degree of ambiguity, ability to make quick and informed decisions to handle crisis situations.
  • Ability to work well in crossgeographical teams and working with global customers.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 5+ years of experience with a majority of these skill sets in the following areas:
  • Managing an SAP environment on a day-to-day basis.
