    Job Description:

    Our Buyer Platform technology team is building an advertising optimization platform which will be key to the growth of advertiser budgets on PubMatic's Activate product.

    We are building optimization techniques for improving the performance of advertiser budgets on our platform against a number of metrics: cost per click, cost per impression, video completes, and many others. These optimization techniques aim to improve both the performance and relevance of the inventory purchased through system, resulting in a better open web experience for consumers and improved return on ad spend for our advertisers.

    We are hiring a Buyer Performance Solutions Engineer to join our growing team in Pune on a hybrid work schedule. The Buyer Performance Solutions Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing systems for improving results for our advertiser campaigns through machine learning and other techniques. This involves deploying algorithms with high inference speeds to integrate with our Real Time Bidding systems, as well as training these algorithms using modern statistical techniques.

    We are looking for people who are performance oriented, self-motivated, and can contribute to a multiple code bases in a variety of contexts as needed to deploy the solutions we develop. Experience with optimization techniques, randomized control trials, and adtech (particularly real time systems) is greatly preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for designing and developing software for various parts of the system architecture of our real time bidding platform.
    • Understand and improve the optimization techniques used to drive advertiser performance.
    • Design systems and solutions which are reliable, available, and scalable.
    • Develop high-performance and high-quality code following the best practices for software development and documentation.
    • Interface with advertising solutions non-technical teams to address customer and buyer concerns with our systems.
    • Troubleshoot complex issues discovered in-house as well as in customer environments.

    Qualifications:

    • Product development experience in languages in networking systems (golang) as well as machine learning or statistical techniques (Python, R, or Scala).
    • Experience in implementing optimization techniques in real time systems.
    • Must have implemented system which handles ad-requests at scale effectively
    • Experience with common marketing/adtech goals such as CTR, CPC, etc.
    • Experience in building and contributing to software systems in a distributed team.
    • Experience with relation database systems such as postgres. Experience with document database systems (such as Aerospike, Scylla, etc.) preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (will involve substantial interaction with buyer teams).
    • Academic background in mathematics, economics, or computer science preferred.

    Additional Information

    Return to Office: PubMatic employees throughout the global have returned to our offices via a hybrid work schedule (3 days "in office" and 2 days "working remotely") that is intended to maximize collaboration, innovation, and productivity among teams and across functions. All PubMatic employees in the US and India are required to be fully vaccinated to return to our offices. Covid-19 boosters are not required at this point in time.
