Meet the team

The mission of SAP S/4HANA and the Public Cloud ERP Product Management team is to drive and grow SAP's core business as a market leader in cloud ERP. We are responsible for defining product scenarios based on market and target customer needs and translating them into consumable product requirements for engineering teams. We work hand-in-hand with our engineering and product marketing teams, as well as with our customers and partners on continuously improving our SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition product. Product Management is the authoritative voice of the legitimate challenges customers face, evangelizing an outcome-based product vision and roadmap that truly solves customer pain points by creating products that delight, yet serve the needs of SAP.

The SaaS foundation provides the fundamental services for the success of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition entire functional areas:

• Ensuring a consistent customer experience across all functional areas by delivering important enablers and necessary supplements
• Striving to cover the entire product. Current focus is on the ABAP Core, and reuse services on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) get into focus as well
• Enabling IT user/Business user persona with supporting functionality

The Role

We are looking for a passionate candidate (m/f/d) that can lead a professional and future-oriented cloud product management team(s). Ideally, you bring a track record in leading multi-national cloud and state-of-the-art SaaS units and are used to working in a fast-paced and agile organization. You will need to drive your organization towards a true SaaS mindset and setup, and quickly establish credibility and trust with key SAP leaders, product marketing and product management teams, engineering teams, customers, and your future peers. As a manager, you will have a CEO mindset, meaning you have accountability for driving success and growth of your respective product area.

Your future product management team is responsible for ensuring that SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition includes the necessary SaaS foundation and cloud qualities to create the best customer implementation experience, including but not limited to topics such as Central Business Configuration (CBC), customers transitioning to a three-system landscape, and accelerating implementation timelines through Parallel Project Line (PPL). The team is also in charge of managing product localization across multiple lines of business and driving the evolution of various extensibility options. As a result, experience in one or more of these areas is highly advantageous.

• Central Business Configuration (CBC): Understanding of CBC and how it can be leveraged to provide basis for adopting best practices and offer flexibility to easily configure and adapt their system according to their business requirements. Experience in customer implementation projects is a plus.
• Three-System Landscape (3SL): Managing the customers transition from a traditional Two-System Landscape 2SL to a Three-System Landscape 3SL and ensuring a smooth migration for customers and change management. Experience in system landscape transformation projects and knowledge of best practices in system architecture is beneficial.
• Parallel Project Line (PPL) for Accelerated Implementations: Driving the adoption of PPL, ensuring that customers can benefit from accelerated implementations and ability to priotirize requird features with higher impact on customers
• Product Localization: Aligning the priorities for product localization with SAP's internal globalization unit. Managing localization requirements across different regions and industries to support the usage by customers operating globally. Ensuring the product provides extensibility options to allow partners and customers building and extending own local versions. Having knowledge of localization requirements, including legal and regulatory compliance, and local business practices is important.
• Extensibility Options: Driving the evolution of various extensibility options in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, enabling customers to enhance the product to meet their specific needs and partners to extend the product with LoB/industry packages

What you'll do

The SaaS Foundation Manager (m/f/d) Public Cloud ERP Product Management will report to Head of Product Management - SaaS Foundation and lead a team across multiple locations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Be a strong influencer across SAP and in the market
• Lead a highly motivated and world class product management unit with focus on SaaS foundation and the particular subjects stated in the role definition's section that supports the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition's strategic direction and growth ambitions
• Understand and take ownership (with your team) of customer problems and turn them into product solutions from concept through to requirements, design, and delivery, collaborating with product marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders in doing so
• Engage customers, partners, and other stakeholders at all stages of the product lifecycle to ensure we are solving the right problems and building products our customers need
• Be an spokesperson for Cloud ERP within SAP and with analysts, press, and influencers
• Create a highly innovative organization with strong focus on Employee Engagement and leadership NPS

What you bring

• 6+ years of relevant work experience in the software industry, preferably in Product Management
• Excellent people management & leadership skills and ability to deal with high pressure from internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent verbal, communication skills with the customers, partners and internal teams, as well as board/executive level presentation skills
• Ideally, an international track record showcasing that you can effectively relate to multicultural teams
• Strong customer focus with previous exposure to key customers, as well as partner orientation
• Self-motivated and results-driven, with demonstrable success in previous positions
• Expertise in one or multiple of the core topics mentioned above would be advantageous
• Understanding of how to develop a product strategy and a product roadmap based on developing strong market expertise for a topic or product area
• Fluent or near-native English language skills
