Description

As a Senior Technical Support Developer, you will be part of a product engineering team maintaining and supporting our Excel add-in, written in C#/.NET. Using your software development skills and support experience, your primary role is to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer issues in a timely and customer-centric manner. You will also be responsible for making key improvements, upgrades, and optimizations to both our code and support processes, to empower our support team to better diagnose issues, and improve the overall experience for our users. You will also work with product engineering teams on building brand-new features and enhancements to the Excel Add-ins. Responsibilities:

· Identify, triage, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues in collaboration with customer support and product engineering teammates.

· Reproduce issues, replicating customer environments as needed.

· Improve product supportability and observability by implementing tooling and processes to empower customer support specialists and end users to better self-troubleshoot the application.

· Maintain code base by upgrading libraries and resolving tech debt.

· Document issues and contribute to our internal team documentation.

· Advocate for and execute development initiatives, best practices, and coding standards.

· Act as an effective information channel between your team and the broader organization

· Coach developers on work prioritization and work-related challenges

Essential Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience utilizing your software development skills in a product support capacity.

· Experience building and supporting desktop applications in C# .NET.

· Experience with RESTful APIs

· Solid background and practical experience in object-oriented methodologies and design patterns

· Strong knowledge of WPF, MVVM, XAML, LINQ, JSON, and UI data binding

· Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

· Experience mentoring other developers (formally or informally)

· Experience planning and organizing technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

· Experience building and supporting Excel COM Addins using the .NET Interop library

· Experience with VSTO/ClickOnce/Installers

· Experience with Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, automation testing, CI/CD scripting

· Experience building apps with Java, Javascript/Typescript

Decision-making and authority

· Works on significant and unique products, features, defect fixes, and other problems, where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

· Sometimes works with abstract requirements and leads the process of clarifying them and creating tangible engineering tasks.
