PURPOSE

Design, develop, enhance systems for prop tech industry. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and developing engineering team. The role will own activities from team capacity planning, requirement understanding, scoping, estimation, implementation to post production support ensuring robust, effective and flexible solution and support. Require to work with DevOps to help in deploying code in a seamless manner.

Since Blox is a startup hence we prefer the manager having experience across 3+ product release life cycles. A consumer internet company manages its production system inhouse, unlike enterprise product. Hence the manager should have experience in companies like Blox where he has experienced first hand the growth of startup.

Hands on experience is must in developed microservices with Springboot, Java, ReST APIs with any relational database. Who can contribute in coding and reviews. Participate in design discussion and choice of technology.

Someone who has grown from Principal Engineer/Architect into supervisory role. This is 60% hands-on and 40% supervisory role. Gradually with team increase this will tilt more towards supervisory.

Likes to learn and apply fast. Can work with ambiguity and help in standardising. Startup environment is fast paced with ever evolving requirements and goals. A person who has worked with startups and MNC is desirable. You own the solution developed and support it in production.

Have exposure to projects that has mobile app, PWA, website and 3rd party systems ingesting data.

Desirable to have prop tech or any real estate aggregator or consumer internet platform experience.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in collaboration with multiple teams (Business, Data Science, Product team and Operations etc) to identify problems, prioritize features, advance and enhance product vision.

Manage program releases and collaborate with Architects for bringing new practices and making right technical choices for the system.

Lead development cycle and ensure delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimised for performance and built to scale.

Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure solutions are maintainable, modular, and of high code-quality.

Drive high performance in the Engineering team, with a relentless focus on agile methodologies and continuous innovation in processes, work practices and tooling

Build a strong, progressive engineering culture that values diversity, trust, efficiency, technical ownership, and accountability

The business plans to transform the homebuyer journey in real estate from a cumbersome and painful process that is completely out of sync with the digital economy. It is building a fully integrated online to offline system to make real estate transactions delightful, rather than painful as they currently are. Using data science and proprietary algorithms, the company will also allow clients to compare properties fairly and price transparency will lead to higher transactions in the industry. The digital products will also allow customers to schedule site visits assisted by our experts so as to achieve the highest value and customer service. After home selection, the platform will enable customers multiple digital facilities for processes such as paperwork with developers, stamp duty payments, home loan assistance and registration of the property, all as part of one homebuying experience through one platform, in a seamless manner with full online and offline capability and functionality.

1. Worked in a startup environment taking product from 0 to 1. Have experience of a large product and consumer internet company as well. So that he/she is aware of their mature setups/processes.

2. Have strong experience in managing consumer internet /saas delivery. That means from requirement, designing, planning, tracking, closure through various functions - business, operations, engineering, devops, legal, compliance, training, documentation, vendors

3. Does scrum meeting / standups

4. Efficient with tools - JIRA, Confluence etc MS Project

5. Provide management with progress reports- burn down charts, plans etc

6. Self motivated, learner, enabler. Report to CTO.

7. Has technology/IT experience and used tools, technologies.

8. Has development experience of 2-3 years. That is he/she is aware of inherent complexities and dependencies in software development and CI/CD deliveries and ownership.

9. Has done program management of projects getting delivered on cloud in CI/CD pipeline.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATION

Essential

10 to 15 years of product engineering experience post B.Tech/M. Tech

Team leadership and delivery management 5 to 10 years

Strong sense of ownership

Manage team of 8 to 15
