    Senior Accounts - bangalore, India - Mentor Together

    Description
    PURPOSE: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and compliance for nonprofit organizations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and managing various tax and regulatory compliance matters, including GST, TDS, PT, PF, and Income Tax. Additionally, the Senior Accounts & Finance Associate will be expected to assist with office administration as needed and play a key role in budgetary controls.

    EXPERIENCE: Overall at least 6 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit organizations. Experience using Tally is a must.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Accounting Systems & Processes:

    • Manage and maintain the organization's financial records and accounting systems. Record all financial transactions accurately and ensure proper documentation.

    Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.

    Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

    Perform financial analysis to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

    Provide financial insights and recommendations to the finance team and management.

    Tax and Regulatory Compliance:

    Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including GST, TDS, Professional Tax, Employee Provident Fund, and Income Tax.

    Prepare and file necessary tax returns and statements.

    Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary changes in financial processes.

    Financial Audits:

    Assist in the coordination of annual financial audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

    Address audit findings and implement recommendations for improvement.

    Budgetary Controls:

    Play a key role in budget preparation, monitoring, and control activities.

    Collaborate with department heads to ensure budget compliance and provide financial guidance.

    Documentation and Record Keeping:

    Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation. Ensure compliance with all record-keeping requirements

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    Accounting Expertise:Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and fund-based accounting for nonprofits.

    Tax and Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of nonprofit tax regulations, including GST, TDS, PT, PF, and Income Tax.

    Financial Management:Ability to manage budgets, financial forecasts, and financial analysis.

    Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in accounting software Tally and MS Office.

    Attention to Detail:Meticulous attention to detail for accurate financial records.

    Analytical Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.

    Organizational Skills:Excellent organizational skills for record-keeping and audit preparation.

    Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations and organizational needs.

    Ethical Conduct: Commitment to ethical financial practices.

    Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on nonprofit accounting best practices and tax laws.
