    Job Description :

    We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join a new engineering team in a leading role. After many years of collaborating successfully with an external development company we are transitioning to building an internal development team within the Abaca product team.

    The Senior Full-Stack Developer will be the first member of the new engineering team and play a critical role in both team leadership and the transition process.

    RESPONSIBILITIES :

    The Senior Full-Stack Developer will be a key member of the Abaca team and will have the following responsibilities :

    - Independent Engineering : You will be the most senior engineer on the small Abaca engineering team and must be able to produce excellent work without support from more experienced developers.

    - Supervision : You will supervise 1-2 junior or mid level developers on the team and be responsible for the quality of their work.

    - Guidance & Mentoring : You will provide guidance and support to other members of the engineering team to assist them with technical challenges and nurture their professional development.

    - Quality Assurance : You will ensure an effective QA process either internally on the development team or externally via technical supervision of a part-time QA engineer.

    - Village Capital Culture Building & Community Stewardship : Be an active participant in Village Capital's participatory governance system to promote and embody the principles of transparency, inclusion and equity and perform other duties as assigned.

    Skills :

    Proficient in both front-end and back-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, , , and relational databases like PostgreSQL.

    Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.

    Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions on time and within budget.
