    Description

    Overview:

    The PurchaseHead of Department (HOD) plays a crucial role in overseeing theprocurement function of the organization. They are responsible forformulating and implementing procurement strategies to ensurecosteffective purchasing of all goods and services. The PurchaseHOD works closely with various internal departments to understandtheir requirements maintain supplier relationships and driveprocess efficiency.

    KeyResponsibilities:

    • Develop andimplement purchasing strategies.
    • Lead andmanage the purchase team.
    • Negotiate withvendors to secure advantageous terms.
    • Establishand maintain beneficial supplierrelationships.
    • Oversee and manage theprocurement budget.
    • Ensure compliance withpurchasing policies and procedures.
    • Conductmarket research to identify potentialsuppliers.
    • Monitor and forecast upcoming levelsof demand.
    • Collaborate with various internalstakeholders to determine procurementneeds.
    • Optimize procurement processes forefficiency.
    • Review and analyze procurementmetrics.
    • Resolve supplier performance issuesand contract disputes.
    • Keep abreast of industrytrends and best practices.
    • Implement costreduction initiatives.
    • Assess and manage risksin the supply chain.

    RequiredQualifications:

    • Bachelors degree inBusiness Administration Supply Chain Management or relatedfield.
    • Proven experience as a purchase manageror in a similar role.
    • Strong leadership andmanagerial skills.
    • Excellent negotiation andnetworking abilities.
    • Proficiency in supplychain and inventory management.
    • Sound knowledgeof procurement regulations and bestpractices.
    • Demonstrated ability to handlecomplex procurement activities.
    • Analytical andproblemsolving skills.
    • Effective communicationand interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency inrelevant procurement software.
    • Ability to workunder pressure and meet tightdeadlines.
    • Understanding of financial andbudgeting processes.
    • Certification inPurchasing (e.g. CIPS) is a plus.
    • Proven trackrecord of cost savings and processimprovements.
    • Adherence to ethical andprofessionalstandards.
