    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Back-end Developer to join our Development team at Adaan. Reporting to the Head of Digital Tools and Applications, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic and databases for web applications and digital products.

    Key Responsibilities Areas (KRAs):

    Back-end Development:

    • Design, develop, and implement server-side logic and APIs using programming languages - , or Express js
    • Architect and optimize database schemas and queries for efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
    • KPI: Timely and accurate completion of back-end development tasks.

    Database Management:

    • Design and develop database schemas, data models, and data storage solutions to support application requirements.
    • Perform database administration tasks such as data migration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
    • KPI: Efficiency and effectiveness in database management tasks.

    API Development and Integration:

    • Develop RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate communication between front-end systems, third-party services, and back-end databases.
    • Integrate back-end components with front-end systems and external APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange and functionality.
    • KPI: Effective integration of APIs with front-end and third-party systems.

    Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing to validate functionality and ensure robustness of back-end systems.
    • Perform debugging and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues and bugs.
    • KPI: Successful testing and resolution of back-end technical issues.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and contribute to technical discussions.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to provide updates on development progress, share technical insights, and address technical challenges.
    • KPI: Effective collaboration and communication within cross-functional teams.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

    Software Knowledge:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Database management i.e. MySQL, MongoDB

    Essential Requirements:

    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as , or Express js
    • Strong understanding of database management systems, SQL, and ORM frameworks.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

    Preferred Skills / Requirements:

    • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
    • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

    Experience :

    • 2 - 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
