    Description

    We're building a pipeline of great people for future Electrical Power System Engineering opportunities with Tractebel Engie. At Tractebel Engie, energy solutions like advanced power system studies, protection and control systems are a natural extension of the company's 150-year legacy in the generation, power transmission , distribution and substation business.

    Ranked as one of the top global design firms as per ENR magazine. Our Power System Engineering group focuses on solving complex power quality and reliability issues through designing sustainable power system.

    Hands on Experience with Software:

    • PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP, Advanced Excel and Power point is a must.
    • Working experience with DigSilent power factory, Power world simulator, MATLAB, Simulink, PV Syst, Homer, CYMDIST, Arc GIS or PLEXOS will be an added advantage.
    • Python scripting and coding experience of PSS/E, PSCAD , DigSilent power factory and ETAP with demonstrated history of working is an added advantage.
    • Capability in building ".dll" files through Fortran parallel studio will be an added advantage.

    Qualifications:

    B.E or B.Tech in Electrical engineering is preferred.

    M.E, M.Tech , MS or PhD with specialization in power system is an added advantage.

    Job Profile:

    Power System Analysis – Load Flow, Short Circuit, Transient Stability, optimal power flow, optical capacitor placement, P-V and Q-V analysis, Voltage stability , Tap changer optimization study, system security analysis, Insulation coordination and EMT studies (TOV, SFO, FFO, VFTO etc) , Relay Coordination, Harmonic analysis, Flicker, voltage fluctuation and Arc Flash studies.

    ✓ Solar/Onshore Wind/ Off-shore wind/ Battery storage grid code compliance study with steady state P-Q analysis, LVRT, HVRT, FRT and Set point controls.

    ✓ Power Transmission System Master planning studies involving assessment of SVC, STACOM, HVDC interconnection, Frequency stability, UFLS implementation, AGC and small signal stability analysis.

    ✓ Power Distribution System Master planning studies involving PV, Electric vehicle, Battery Storage, reliability analysis and distribution system automation.

    ✓ Renewable energy hosting capacity in medium, high and extra high voltage system.

    ✓ Development of load forecasting models as and when necessary.

    ✓ Energy Mix study with calculation of LCOE.

    ✓ Transmission, Distribution and Substation basic engineering and Lender's engineering working experience will be preferred.

    Experience:

    ✓ Experience of undertaking complex, large-scale, national, and international projects.

    ✓ Typically, 6~12 years' experience in the power system studies.

    Job Skills:

    ✓ Detail oriented: Simple and complex problem solving and analytical skills.

    ✓ Communication skills : Shall poses a good verbal and written communication skill.

    ✓ Writing skills : Power Systems Engineer must have good technical writing skills. He should be able to write reports on his own, summarise and demonstrate to the client.

    ✓ Project management skills: When designing or implementing, a power system design or other project, you must be able to manage the various aspects of the project in order to complete the tasks on schedule and within budget. Where applicable, Power Systems Engineers must be able to monitor and evaluate the work. Working experience with Primavera or MS Projects will be an added advantage.

    ✓ Leadership skills : Power Systems Engineers play a significant role in driving innovations and successfully implementing projects. He should support the reporting managers with project planning as well as lead teams from various technical backgrounds.

    In addition to these skills, an electric power engineer should also be familiar with the following:

    ✓ Various Grid Codes and planning criteria's

    ✓ Standards and compliance strategies for projects

    ✓ Construction, operation, statutory and regulatory process, where applicable.
