    COMPANY

    Lotus Pharmaceutical is the largest pharmaceutical company in Taiwan by annual net sales and continues to grow rapidly with a strong pipeline and portfolio including high-barrier oncology, complex generics. Lotus is an integrated pharma company with its own development and manufacturing sites located in Taiwan. Over the past years the Lotus leadership team has transformed the company from a local pharmaceutical company in Taiwan to a highly diversified international pharma company driven by exports to US, Europe, LATAM, MENA.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The position will work on a wide variety of Intellectual Property matters within the Intellectual Property Department at Lotus including Patent searches, Patent landscaping, strategy clearance, monitoring competition and litigation, TM clearance, and registering for EU, US and APAC region.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct patent searches, including patent landscape and provide initial evaluation for formulation and polymorph in a time bound manner.
    • Assist R&D team in developing patent circumventing strategies, prepare FTO and non-infringement, Invalidity reports for the products under development.
    • Routinely monitor and manage IP related litigations, oppositions, appeals, changing IP scenario, Competitive landscape
    • Assist teams in filling the patent/trademark applications and prosecution, maintenance in countries.
    • Provide generic and 505(b)2 opportunities.
    • Support Portfolio team for building Pipeline.
    • Keeping track of new changes in IP laws and regulatory laws evaluating their impact and updating the IP head.
    • Keeping track of patent cases and its learnings and impact and updating the team.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 5-8 years of experience in intellectual property in the generic pharmaceutical industry.
    • Having good understanding of IP laws of the Europe, USA, and fair for LATAM and APAC markets including regulatory environment.
    • Good analytical skill for formulation (OSD, Injectables preferred), method of treatment, polymorph, dosage regimen, patents; analytical skill on patents pertaining to devices and API process is added advantage.
    • Fair patent drafting and prosecution skills and experience.
    • Adept to provide launch dates.
    • Capable of working in a deadline driven environment
    • At least Master in Pharmaceutics from premier institute.
    • Desirable to have an additional specialization in Intellectual Property
