    Description
    This role is part of a program aimed at reigniting careers in the Tax field. Amazon India is in search of a Tax Manager specialized in Indirect Tax, based in Bengaluru. This position involves overseeing matters related to indirect tax, such as planning strategies, operations, and policies. The role also includes providing tax consulting for various business initiatives and collaborating with teams in India and the U.S. The ideal candidate should possess strong collaborative skills. Key job responsibilities: • Analyzing business transactions and initiatives related to marketplace and seller services, acting as an in-house tax advisor • Researching Indian GST and other indirect tax issues, working with external advisors as needed • Developing and assessing Indian GST and other indirect tax planning strategies • Keeping up-to-date with Indian indirect tax laws, regulations, and court decisions • Monitoring state-specific regulatory requirements • Managing relationships with external tax consultants and authorities • Ensuring proper data recording for tax compliance, audit, and litigation. This role interacts with U.S. and Indian business units, requiring good collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be capable of explaining complex tax concepts in simple terms. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department • 6+ years in tax, finance, or a related analytical field • Degree in law or accounting • Chartered/Cost accountant (or equivalent). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of accounting concepts.
