Who we are looking for:

The Financing Solutions business within State Street Global Markets (SSGM) provides asset managers and asset owners with customized custodial and third-party securities lending solutions through our Agency lending program; provides securities lending and financing to a wide range of clients from alternative investment managers to mainstream asset owners and asset managers through our Enhanced Custody platform; and, provides investment managers seeking capital-efficient and stable financing facilities through a platform Alternative Financing Solutions offer.

SSGM operations support these products during the post-trade execution life cycle that includes settlement, reconciliation, collateralization, billing, regulatory reporting, and financial accounting & distribution. We are seeking a Head – Financing Solutions Operations, Global Markets India, Managing Director – to lead the India team that supports the GM Financing Solutions businesses.

Agency Lending is a trusted provider with 40+ years of agency lending experience, is one of the largest agency lending programs in the world servicing 250+ active clients in 30+ markets with over $4+ trillion in lendable assets and over $380+ billion on loan, 24/7 coverage with eight offices and five trading desks across the globe and collateral management expertise offers flexibility across a wide range of non-cash collateral options and our expertise in cash management via SSGA

Prime Services offer hedge funds, mutual funds and asset owners an alternative to traditional prime brokerage by offering unique and innovative financing arrangements from highly rated State Street Bank and Trust Company (SSBTC). The platform allows clients to borrow and finance securities within a segregated custody account, instead of using a broker dealer account. We offer a range of value-add services that differentiate us from traditional prime brokerage, including self-borrowing, memo-pledging and repledge of collateral as well as Direct Access (our managed peer-to-peer offering). Build-out of Prime Synthetics is also a key area of ongoing focus to drive International Prime Services growth.

Alternate Financing Solutions is a platform used by investment managers seeking capital-efficient, stable financing facilities. The service integrates custody and financing platforms, providing clients with a managed facility that offers oversight reporting on a real-time basis.

What you will be responsible for

As India head – SSGM Financing Solutions Operations (Managing Director) - you are responsible for day-to-day oversight of 200 employees in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The role is responsible for designing and executing an annual Financing Solutions operations roadmap that evolves technology to drive automated, scalable processes and incorporates a business plan to accommodate growth and revenue generation. Significant consideration is applied to a risk framework to ensure controls are in place to mitigate areas of exposure.

• Drive day-to-day operational efficiencies through standardization and continuity of process.
• Create a performance culture by empowering employees to operate in a high-performing team that delivers tangible outcomes
• Evolve our technology roadmap to operate to scale and supports growth with automation rather than exception processing.
• Partner with business heads to understand revenue opportunities so we support them with optimal operating models.
• Work across State Street corporate partners and COEs to ensure we escalate and resolve issues proactively.
• Understand the evolving regulatory environment to ensure processes are in place to capture and support change
• Oversee performance and risk indicators with productive reporting and metrics
• Review, maintain and/or implement controls when applicable to reduce risk.
• Support the 'Risk Excellence' culture within the business.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years' experience in capital markets – risk, operations or finance background preferred.
• Deep understanding of Financial Markets and operational processes
• Demonstrated record of managing risk within operational environments
• A Change Management mindset and proven record of leading large scale initiatives
• Understanding of Custody, Fund Accounting, and Transfer Agency roles in the delivery of data for the hedging process desired.
• Master's in finance, MBA, or CFA strongly preferred.
